I'm sure you have all been curious to see the magical spot of fine dining that is supporting not only Carlos and I but also Terry and Steve, Scott, George, on busy weekends Mike, Lisa, and KK. Terry and I are the only two who are full time seasonal. The rest of the wait staff are part time seasonal as during the week we have no need for 7 waiters, actually today I will be working alone on te floor. Happy New Year!!!!!
Terry had a short day and was how by 4 and then we started to party prep and before you knew it it was ski house dance party and we were ringing in the new year!!!
The theme of the night was purpleShift Drinks and Cocktailing!
So I am fully into my life as a waiter at the Wild Bore Tavern. Christmas week was a non stop adventure. Twice during the week I stayed after the lunch shift was over to "cocktail" . We stop serving lunch at 3pm and then there are different bands that play from 3 to 6pm during which time we serve drinks and appetizers. Cocktailing is a good gig to have as you can do really well in tips. However, cocktailing does mean that you need to take drink orders while the band is playing so you can never hear a word they say and you need to ask them to repeat there orders at least three times. Also it mean you need to be running around the packed restaurant serving drinks while navigating between the drunken dancers and the ski equipment all around the place. The other down side of cocktailing is that you generally don't get a chance to stop to eat so you can find yourself finishing up for the day at 6pm with nothing in your belly except a yogurt you had at 8am, and thats when you ask Stevie for your shift drink . I did this a few nights ago and I find that having a very strong vodka and cranberry on an empty stomach will get you pretty loopy, follow it with wine at dinner and you will be sound asleep by 9:30 without a problem.

25 People and 6 dogs, Merry Christmas!
It was a perfect Christmas Celebration! Christmas Eve was a just the house mates (minus Matt) and we had a tapas and quiche diner with a few nice bottles of wine. Christmas day started off perfect with Carlos and I opening gift my parents sent up to Vermont with us and then a relaxing morning before George and I went off to work. With just the two of us we were totally slammed and had to run our butts off all day. I Got off at around 5pm and came home to a transformed skihouse! Terry and Carlos did an amazing job setting it up for the diner.
I am finding that this work thing is very tiring. I french exited (cluster slang for slipping out of the party with out saying good night to go to sleep) almost every night this past week.

Farkle Farkle Farkle!
So there was
no trip into town to play trivia. Instead we headed to lower level and had a marathon game of Farkle in front of the fire. It was a very close game for last place as Terry, Tyler, ans Scott, all of whom repeatedly farkled out and the big winner was Christen who was a first time player. The Bromley wait staff called it a night by 11:30 while the kids decide to hit the hot tub and continue the party. We were up early as Terry Steve and Carlos headed to Manchester to do a shopping to prep for the Holiday feast and I went to the gym, shift drinks add up on the waist quickly.
Carlos went out with Scott snowshoeing today and had a great time (In the picture above he is sending the dog out so he can change out of his snow suit)
Tonight we are waiting for the arrival of George. Carlos has a baked ham in the oven, and Terry is here on the floor wrapping her gift while I wrap up this blog post.

Lunch Lift Special
Hoping to ward off the Bromley Belly, induced from excessive wine drinking at night and eating fried food everyday for lunch, Terry, Steve, Carlos and I all headed off to the Gym at 7:30 am. After an hours workout we were back home showering and getting ready for day two as a Bore Whore. It was a busy day.. filled with scandals but non that included me... :)
Terry and Carlos made a trip to Manchester and camer home with a new wreath, and as one does we all took are picture in it. Now if anyone can drive we could be going to trivia night at a local hotspot.... tune in tomorrow to find out....
